Uno dei piatti tipici Americani sono i pancakes, che vengono anche chiamati hotcakes, griddlecakes o flapjacks. Belli da vedere, gustosi e facilissimi da preparare. Tipicamente vengono gustati con miele o sciroppo d’acero ma ci si può davvero sbizzarrire.

Se volete gustare piatti tipici americani quali i pancakes con sciroppo d’acero, caldi brownies al cioccolato, Muffin per tutti i gusti, cheesecake, apple pie, apple cake e chi più ne ha più ne metta, non potete non andare a gustarvi un brunch, un breakfast o anche un semplice spuntino alla California Bakery.

Siamo a Milano, anche se tutto qui ricorda le tipiche Bakery Newyorkesi, con il caldo profumo di dolci e cannella, l’atmosfera accogliente e lo stile metropolitano un pò retrò. Le numerose ricette di torte che potete gustare alla Bakery, sono anche chiamate “di nonna Papera”, poichè sono realizzate con le stesse ricette, la devozione e il tocco magico usato dalle nonne americane per preparare le torte ai loro nipoti.

 

E’ dal 1996 che i milanesi, possono trovare nella loro città un pezzetto di America con i suoi profumi e i suoi piatti tipici, grazie alle 5 sedi di California Bakery sparse per la città. Il branch della domenica è un appuntamento imperdibile perchè tra hamburgers, bagels farciti, uova strapazzate con bacon, seafood plate, children’s plate e kosher, non potrete di certo tornare a casa delusi!

Come preparare Pancake

Unite e mescolate farina, lievito, sale e zucchero. A parte sbattete i bianchi d’uovo fino a farli diventare consistenti, a parte sbattete i tuorli e unite bene latte ed olio.Fatto questo unite tutto ed amalgamate delicatamente, aggiungete per ultimi i bianchi d’uovo.

Nel frattempo ungere con un filo d’olio una padella di 10/15 cm circa e metterla a fuoco basso. Appena la padella e’ calda aggiungere cucchiai di composto fino a coprire la superficie della padella ed allargarlo fino a formare un cerchio.

Lasciate cuocere fino a quando inizia a fare delle vere e proprie bolle, a quel punto girate il pancake dall’altra parte e cuocerlo fino a quando non appare asciutto completamente. E ora…di corsa a tavola con miele, sciroppo d’acero, nutella, e chi piu’ ne ha piu’ ne metta!
